Library

The RICE library is located in the RICE building at 59 Power Crescent Port Augusta.

There are 3 main parts to the RICE library namely:

  • The Toy Library
  • The Travelling toy library
  • The Parent Library

The Toy Library includes a variety of books, talking books, puzzles, board games, construction, DVD’s, CD’s,  role play animal, farm barns, shopping and kitchen play items, science activities, baby & toddler toys and much more. Items in the Toy Library are for children up to 12 years old.

Also included in the toy library is a “Hospital Kit’ with books, role play items, information and activity sheets for if a child has a stay in hospital  and a “New Sibling Kit” with books, doll, baby bath, bassinet etc to help ease children in to having a new baby in the house.

The Travelling Toy Library  has a variety of outdoor sport equipment, water play, construction, dress ups, puppets, art and craft gear, dolls and role play items. These are mainly used for Outback childcare - In home care, Creches. Play Days and Activity Days where the vehicles can be backed up to the roller door and loaded up.

The Parent Library  includes a variety of books, DVD’s and CD’s on

  • Child development
  • Babies and toddlers
  • Pregnancy and Childbirth
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Relationships and Personal Development
  • General interest

all for parents to borrow.

All resources can be borrowed for up to 2 months. They are returned with a RICE reply paid label at no cost to the borrower.
